Visit Hongdae, The Street That Never Sleep

The next popular location to hang out in Seoul after Myeongdong would be

Hongdae (Hangul: 홍대) is an abbreviation of Hongik Daehakgyo, the Hongik University (홍익대학교). The term ‘hongdae’ is usually used in regards to the Hongik University which has one of the nation’s top fine arts colleges in South Korea. [cr: wiki]

No one could ever get bored once you stepped foot onto Hongdae. You can simply go around for Food and Cafes haunting mission; or turn into a shopaholic.(Clothings can go beyond as cheap as 5,000k won!!!)
As the night falls in, Hongdae would be a popular hot spot for many people to eat, to enjoy music in Pubs; and as well as the interesting dance floor in the Clubs.

FACT : Do you know that on the last Friday of the month, you could purchase a 15,000k won ticket which entitles you to the entrance of 11clubs! Have a crazy and fun night people! *Club usually ends very LATE(or I would say early in the morning) in Korea. =P

Do check out some of the popular Club listings HERE.

Enough saying. Well, too bad we’re too early for clubs anyway, thus Calvin and I decided to pay a visit to the Trick Eye Museum instead, which was newly open few months back!

We were totally famished after those crazy photo taking(since we had a long day), thus we decided to drop by HAHA(YES! Running Man’s HAHA) Pal Ja Mak Chang for our dinner since it’s within the area too.

We tried ordering something different from the usual boring Doenjang Jjigae(Bean Paste Soup) soup as well.

This is Doenjang Jjigae with Janchi guksu.
A kind of noodle that taste like our mee-sua.

Need something soupy and light to end of the dinner?
What about ordering a pot of Jjuk to share?! 🙂

Well, it’s time for some last shopping (AGAIN) since it would be the last night in Seoul for us.

Something attracts me from far while shopping…

There were tonnes of street performances over at Hongdae area.
The boys(the band) were known as 홍대 ABCD (Acoustic Bus Couple D).
They always perform in Hongdae and they do attracts a lot of passerby. 😀

Check out the short video of their singing performance I took below..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I’m so shy to take a photo with them..

I ditch(ed) Calvin off to have a quick photo with them and boy; they got so excited after I told them that we’re from Singapore. ㅎㅎ

Well, this pretty sum up my short days over in Seoul.
Jeju Trip post(s) is coming up and I know this is what many of you are anticipating for. =P

Do check back regularly and if you need the itinerary, you can download a copy over HERE.

Till then,
안녕~ ^^
